Zadar region has a tradition of 3000 years, it covers 14 % of the territory of the Republic of Croatia and 12 % of territorial waters with 580 km2 of islands with a number of islands more than days in a year. It has the most indented coast in Croatia with a length of more than 1200 km. There are 4 larger islands: Pag, Dugi otok, Ugljan, and Pašman, and smaller islands behind them: Silba, Molat, Olib, Premuda, Iz, Vrgada, and Sestrunj.

 

Zadar region is very attractive because of its geographical position. Positioned in the mere center of the Adriatic coast, surrounded by 4 national parks: Plitvice lakes, Mountain park of Paklenica, Falls of river Krka, and national park Kornati. Never the less attractive are natural parks: are Telascica on Dugi otok, the canyon of river Zrmanja, and the largest natural lake in Croatia Vransko jezero near Biograd.
